Held annualy on the third Friday and Saturday of June! Czech Days are filled with fun, music, entertainment, dancing, and traditional Czech foods. The celebration has kept alive the heritage of the early founders of this little South Dakota community who came to Tabor as early as 1869 from what-is-today the Czech Republic. St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, organized in 1971, is named for the patron saint of the Czech and Slovak peoples. Over 200 costumed dancers in kroje perform both evenings…

From June 18 to June 22, Czech and Slovak Sokol Minnesota will sponsor the 21st Children's Cultural Day Camp. This year campers will learn about key events in Czech and Slovak history in the past 100 years. In addition, regular camp activities will take place, including gymnastics, ethnic cooking and crafts, and Czech language. Campers enjoy selecting their own activities in the afternoon, which may include Lego castle, dragon building, or puppetry with Czech and Slovak puppets. The Emperor and the Peasant: Two Men at the Start of the Great War and the End of the Habsburg Empire, by Kenneth Janda, is about World War I and Slovak and Czech emigration to the United States.
